About the Owner

Welcome to Excel At Math, LLC!

With more than 25 years of experience in the field of education, I have dedicated my career to helping students grow, thrive, and discover the joy of learning. I have taught mathematics at the middle school, high school, and college levels, and I have also served as an instructional coach, assistant principal, and principal. Throughout every role, my passion for mathematics has remained at the center of my work, guiding my efforts to help students build strong mathematical foundations while developing confidence and curiosity.

Excel at Math was created from that passion. The program is designed to strengthen both foundational and advanced mathematical concepts for learners from kindergarten through grade 12 and beyond. Whether students need support, enrichment, or a pathway to mastery, Excel at Math provides personalized, high-quality instruction tailored to individual needs.

The staff is excited to work with students and families both in person and online, offering flexible and engaging opportunities to learn and grow.

Nishan is a recent graduate of North Cobb High School and was a participant in the International Studies Program. This fall, he will begin his studies at Georgia Institute of Technology as a freshman. With several years of tutoring experience, Nishan is dedicated to helping students improve their academic performance, build confidence, and develop a genuine appreciation for mathematics. His approachable style, strong academic background, and passion for learning make him a valuable mentor for students striving to reach their full potential.

TUTOR

Nya is a student at Kennesaw State University pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering with a minor in Mathematics. She has extensive experience teaching calculus through the Accessible Calculus Project and has tutored students in Algebra 1, Algebra 2, and Geometry. Nya is passionate about helping students overcome challenges in mathematics and discover their potential to achieve lasting academic success.

SUMMER CAMP LEAD COUNSELOR

Madelyn serves as the Summer Camp Lead Counselor for Math in Motion Summer Camp. She recently graduated from Oakwood University with a Bachelor of Science in Health Studies. Madelyn brings experience working with children through her roles as a teaching assistant, camp counselor, and youth group leader. She is passionate about creating a safe, engaging, and encouraging environment where campers can learn, explore, and build confidence. Her strong leadership skills, positive attitude, and dedication to helping others make her an excellent role model for our campers.

Ava has recently completed her third year at the University of Georgia, where she is pursuing a degree in Computer Science. She has a strong passion for learning and enjoys the challenge of solving complex problems, whether through coding, technology, or mathematics. An avid reader, Ava loves exploring new ideas and expanding her knowledge through books on a wide range of topics. Her enthusiasm for mathematics and analytical thinking has helped her excel in her studies and develop strong problem-solving skills.
